The 2017 Seattle Animation Film Festival brings animation full circle, showcasing some of the most monumental animations in history. For the first three weeks animations such as Gertie the Dinosaur, one of the first animations ever made, and many others, are showcased at some of Seattle’s oldest theaters. Travel through the animation time capsule and see over 120 years of animation history. Seattle makes animation history in the last week of the festival when over 50 local animations are viewed!
An animation was the perfect way to reach this particular market. This advertisement features my interpretation of Gertie the Dinosaur and the Seattle city scape. I started the animation by writing a script. I then storyboarded, and made the illustrations and followed that up by taking everything into After Effects.
